Part 28: Route 227 and Stark Mountain

Part 28

Route 227
Route 227 ascends the slope of Stark Mountain. It undulates and has a volcanic theme to it.

There is only one way to get across the valley and that is across a narrow bridge. Two bridges.

Stark Mountain

The caves have a lava effect on the walls in the DS game. To try and replicate it the walls were veneered with lit redstone ore using MCEdit. The game world was loaded up properly in Minecraft. After a minute, about half the lit redstone ore became unlit. The rest of the lit redstone ore was replaced with stone.

The second room is over 100 blocks north-south. It takes Stark Mountain to a point on the map further north than Snowpoint City.

This room has its own valleys and hills.

The same redstone ore procedure was used here.

The last room. In the DS game it is where you can catch the legendary Pokemon Heatran.

The last room is absolutely tiny.

Part 26: Fight Area and Route 225

Part 26

A whole new island. The mainland is complete and now the battle zone needs to be built. It is about 1/8th the size of Sinnoh and is in a tropical setting.

How big is the Battle Zone island. Not that big. It can fit in an entire screenshot.

The biome set is Jungle. The grass is an almost un-natural shade of green.

Some trees I prepeared earlier have to go. Burn them down I say.

Or blow them up.

The Fight area is more of a sea port than a fighting area.

I know the Battle Frontier is nearby, or will be later, but there are shipping containers everywhere.

These fancy houses look nice but the indentation of the facade compromises interior room.

You may have noticed already but this island is based off the Platinum series of the game. Simply because the aesthetics are better.

On the map in the DS game there are trees that are a bit different from the others. For those spots on the DS game's map a large tree was erected.

These ocelot things are just everywhere.

And that is the Fight Zone.

Route 225
This island is based off the Platinum version of the DS game which has much darker rock faces than the mainland. Three choice were (from left to right) Brown clay, 'Grey' clay and Soul sand. After a bit of self debating the winner was...

Grey clay. Even though it is very dark brown is fits the aesthetics perfectly.

Bridges and stairways are the connecting elements.

In the distance you can catch a glimpse of Snowpoint City.

And that's all there is.

Finished Product.

Route 225 and Fight Zone.

The entrance.

Looking west from the eastern edge.

The gates don't fit the Platinum theme but that'll change.
