Part 24: Route 216 and 217

Part 24

For this post I'll be combining both Route 216 and 217 because they are both very similar. This is the first route to have a cold biome.

Setting the Cold Taiga biome changes the colour of the grass to a more bluish hue. It also makes the water freeze.

The entrance to the route from Mt Coronet is perfectly leveled so the lowest point of the route does not go below sea level.

'/weather rain' makes it snow. This is a snow covered route in the DS game so it would be appropriate to do the same here.

Snow. Some snow had to be placed manually such as underneath trees.

Time to stop the snow as a new route needs to be built. Route 217 is a very open route. There are very little obstructions.

There are two houses on the way. In the DS game you can get slowed down a lot by the varying differences in snow depth. It's difficult to map it out and replicate the effect here in Minecraft so we are going without unless I find a way.

Trees.

Now we ca let it snow.

Unfortunately the grass cannot be grown in snow covered grass or have snow fall on them making their presence quite prominent.

Part 23: Mt Coronet (continued)

Part 23
The continuity of Mt Coronet. This is the connection from Eterna City and Celestic Town to lake Acuity and Snowpoint City.

If you comprehensively explored the map up until now you may have encountered this sign that stated 'Snowpoint City this way but doesn't exist yet'. Well, sadly it's till true. But it's getting closer.

This is the block that contains the ling between Celestic Town and Eterna City.

This is the the new brick of Mt Coronet that extends north.

This is quite an angular section with a large lake that consumes the lower third of the cave.

All lit up as per the DS game.

And the roof.

There is a small connector that joint to Route 216 and ultimately to Snowpoint City.

It is integrated into the main room you just saw before.

It is a simple u-turn style room.

Part 14 of 36: Celestic Town

CELESTIC TOWN
Celestic Town is a small town in central Sinnoh near the foothills of Mt Coronet. It is a small town surrounded by Route 210 and 211.

And uh-oh, something's not right here. Something isn't lining up. I knew Route 210 and adjoining areas were perfectly aligned so what's going on here.

Several options to align the misalignment between the town and Route 211 was to adjust the rock faces which would be the easiest option but would spoil the accuracy or to move the eastern block of Route 211 south two blocks and reconnect it to Mt Coronet. The second option was chosen as linking Route 211 to the innards of Mt Coronet was not as important as keeping the over world accurate like the DS game.

Celestic Ruins are underground ruins containing etchings of Sinnoh's three legendary Pokemon. It is a small cave that naturally and seamlessly sits underground. It has quite a rounded off appearance.

And all the buildings. All but two were cloned from other areas and had only their roofs and interiors changed. The shrine in the centre is the only new building.

Some rounding off of the paths and Celestic Town is complete.
